Revolution in Agriculture - A Letter to CM

Dear Ms. Jeyalalitha Amma.

Subject: Revolution in Agriculture

First and foremost my hearty congratulations on our great victory in the legislature election

I am Dhananjayan from Rajapalayam Constitution. Right now I am working in Muscat (sultanate of Oman) as a Air-Conditioning Design engineer. I wish to say something for our new government.

The current status of agriculture in our India is very poor, which was and which should be the backbone of us. We Import a lot rather than exporting. Due to this the basic commodities price is so high that poor goes poorer and rich becomes richest. Its time to have the revolution in Agriculture. We tamilnadu should be the first to adopt this Revolution in agriculture if everything goes well. It is as follows.

Most of the farmers in Tamilnadu doesn't get enough wages for their hard work. This makes them to switch over for other jobs like Maison, carpenter job, etc,. Moreover who is doing agriculture event of loss still facing the problems like less manpower. In my native many farmers have sold and selling their lands. The reason no Manpower and loss.

During the past minority DMK's rule we have faced the worst, foolish, funny and corrupted schemes. One of those is 2 Acres free land to poor farmers !!!! What can a poor farmer do with this 2 Acres of free land ???!!!!. (which is almost waste lands). This poor farmer doesn't have money to plough his land, he doesn't have money to buy seeds, he doesn't have money to dig well and feed water to his land.. In brief what this poor farmer does with this free 2 acre land??

Instead why should not the government undertake the agriculture, own the land, and farming and cultivating the crops?? Let the farmers be come the government employees and take their monthly wages. Whomever wish to sell their land let the government purchase it and do its agriculture. let the recruitment of farmers be on the need basis. It can be also made through private contractors, etc.. In other hand government also gets good income on agriculture if it is properly organised with no corruption..

This encourages many youths to take part in agriculture. More educated youths with more modern way of agriculture this agricultural revolution will be booming.

A Farmer feels proud to say himself that he is a government employee than a staff working in Tasmac wine shops..

Please think on this issue, have meeting with the experts to get advantage and disadvantages of this and act fast. We believe a lot and have faith on this new government. Let the agricultural minister take this issue seriously and please do something.

Note: Please advise me on my idea if there is anything wrong and ways to go ahead. awaiting for your positive approach/reply..
(This was already been sent to cmcell@tn.gov.in and agrisec@tn.gov.in on 28th may 2011 for which till date i havnt got any reply/comment)

  1. That's a good idea.. The govt should/could own farm lands and deploy the farmers to be govt. employees... A brilliant thought i say.

It is sad that we can only only blog about this. I wonder if anyone can tend to read this. If this thought could be practicalised, I am sure we are gonna make huge changes in the country.

Keep posting articles of this sort. Be an awareness to the youth with us.
